Chaire pharmaceutique Famille Louis Boivin: Médicaments, grossesse et allaitement
In 1995, Duchesnay founded the first and only university chair dedicated to research on pharmacotherapy during pregnancy and lactation at l'Université de Montréal. The objective was to create a research and information centre, "Centre IMAGe" (Info-Médicaments en Allaitement et Grossesse), located at l'Hôpital Ste-Justine, a University Teaching Centre affiliated to l'Université de Montréal.
The key objectives of "Centre IMAGe" are to study pharmacokinetics, pharmaco-dynamics and pharmaco-epidemiology during pregnancy. The Centre also counsels physicians on how to improve pharmacotherapy during pregnancy and lactation by means of a specialized on-site pharmacist assigned to the department of obstetrics at l'Hôpital Ste-Justine.
The Motherisk Program at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto
Duchesnay supports research conducted by the Motherisk Program, the only Canada-wide centre to provide authoritative information and guidance to pregnant or lactating women and their healthcare professionals regarding the fetal risks associated with drug, chemical, infection, disease and radiation exposure during pregnancy.

First International Conference on NVP
In 1998, Motherisk hosted the First International Conference on Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy (NVP) with support of Duchesnay.
This troublesome and at times serious problem has been largely ignored by the medical community. In the past NVP was simply considered as part of pregnancy itself. The conference members concluded that NVP must be raised to the status of a medical condition meriting treatment.
The proceedings of this conference are included in Part One of "Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy: State of the Art 2000", the first and only publication to cover all the issues and outcomes related to this medical condition.
Part Two of the book introduces selected papers written by NVP researchers from the Motherisk Program.
