Human Resources Advisor

Role and responsibilites

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Human Resources Director. He/she will be responsible for the following:

  • Act as advisor to managers
  • Inform managers and employees about various programs, advise and assist them in interpreting policies
  • Advise and assist managers in personnel management, compensation, performance evaluations and succession planning
  • Create, write, revise and update job descriptions
  • Analyze and evaluate job descriptions according to criteria used for salary structure and internal equity
  • Implement a skills development process (training)
  • Create and review human resources policies
  • Participate in conflict resolution, handling complaints and formulating disciplinary and administrative sanctions
  • Draft various communications to employees and forward them in a timely manner
  • Perform all tasks and complete all documentation related to employee departures
  • Participate in the administration of group insurance policies and retirement plans
  • Carry out the entire recruitment process in collaboration with managers
  • Recommend candidates and conditions of job offers to managers
  • Prepare letters of offer of employment, present to selected candidates and inform those who were not selected
  • Greet new employees (explain company practices, provide human resources policies for them to read and sign and give a tour of the building)
  • Participate in the completion of special projects

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Certification from the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA) would be an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of Ceridian software would be an asset
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
